We offer a variety Community Outreach initiatives, aimed at serving those struggling with housing and food instability across Pierce County. We are looking to fill our Community Outreach Coordinator role with someone who has a passion for serving the community.

The Community Outreach Coordinator reports to the Community Outreach Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes community needs to determine program opportunities, scope and goals. Tracks and reports data to substantiate efforts. Prepare accurate records and reports on the goals of the fundraising plan.

  • Maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances and other communication opportunities.

  • Prepare an annual budget for community outreach activities.

  • Nurture new and old relationships with collaborative partners.

  • Schedule regular outreach exhibitions in the community and educate employees on community responsibility.

  • Oversee a professional donor management system.

  • Assist in the organization of special events, including donor/volunteer appreciation events and other fundraising initiatives.

Job Skills and Requirements:

  • Communication Skills: Outreach Coordinator will need to be able to clearly communicate with the community and various agencies and partners. Must have good listening skills, and speaking in an understandable way and being a good communicator is crucial to communicating our work and efforts for our underserved population.

  • Time-Management and Organizational Skills: Outreach Coordinator may have multiple events with various requirements and are in various stages of development at the same time. There is a lot of paperwork that will need to be filled out and required reports; you will be also working with multiple agencies, as well as other internal partners. You will need to be organized and efficient with your time.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: There will be times in which events may require out of the box thinking, and you will have to find critically thoughtful solutions.

  • Public Relations: You will need public relations skills to promote awareness, find volunteers, and organize events that benefit our organization.

  • Social Networking Skills: The Outreach Coordinator may have to organize a community-wide project and promote it through newspaper ads, social networking websites, and door-to-door campaigns.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business or related fields.

· Preferred experience of 3-5 years within non-profit fundraising or outreach activities.

· Outstanding written communication and presentation skills.

· Strong experience preparing reports.

· Friendly, enthusiastic and positive attitude.

· Strong knowledge of social media and other basic marketing platforms.

· Detail-orientated with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time.

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)
